About Heather My goodness, it has been a while since I updated this! A ton of things have happened in the year Jake and I have been in California. Currently I am in my 4th semester of graduate school, which means I only have one more semester to go! Yippy! It has been a lot of work and I don't think I have ever worked so hard in school as I am doing now...imagine that?! This summer I began my practicum program (a.k.a. working for free for experience/school credit) at the Roseville Family Resource Center (RFRC). At the RFRC I see about 10 clients a week for therapy sessions--and yes I am the therapist! I work with a wide variety of clients ranging from abused children to divorced couples. I have to say, I absolutely love what I am doing. I am so happy Jake and I took the chance and came out here.
This May Jake and I basically got tired of our neighbors and landlords and decided to move from Fair Oaks to Roseville. We are still just outside of Sacramento, but now only 2 miles from my work. With the move we upgraded immensely on apartments. Our new apartment has 2 bedrooms (good for guests!) and 2 bathrooms. We have an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, granite countertops, laminate-wood floors, a washer/dryer, and a fireplace. We finally feel like we can move around without bumping in to each other. Jake is now working from home and has taken over the second room as his office--go figure! Gus and Nermal are doing well. I don't think I have ever seen a dog and cat wrestle with each other one minute and the next being sleeping beside each other as much as these two. After I graduate this spring Jake and I are still unsure of our plans. We have decided to go where the jobs are for me. Until then, wish me good luck!
About Jake It has been quite a while since I have updated my bio. Since the last time, a lot of things have changed. I was working at Mind Tremors in Fargo, ND when Heather and I decided to move out to Sacramento, CA so she could get her masters degree. Once we arrived here in Sacramento I started working at a different web development company but left to persue another job working with my brother for a firm based in Palo Alto, CA called Endicia.
Currently I am working from home (for Endicia) and am loving it. It is definately a different atmosphere, but I seem to get more work done and find more time to beat up on Gus Gus. I have also found more time (since Heather is away at school most nights) to do some much needed repair on this site, and on my side project. We won't talk about that one yet.
